I'm Maurício Kenyatta, a PhD candidate in International Relations at UnB, with a master's and bachelor's degree in the same field. With over 11 years of academic experience, my work is based on three pillars: university teaching, high-impact research, and personalized mentoring. My goal is to guide students and researchers on their journeys, offering strategic support from project conception to publication and defense , with a focus on developing methodological rigor and academic excellence.
My work philosophy is guided by a commitment to diversity and anti-racist struggle. As an activist with the Unified Black Movement (MNU) and an "artivist," I use poetry and art to promote racial equality. I advocate that diversity is a strength for the State and for teams. This vision is reflected in my work, always striving to create a more inclusive and critical academic environment that contributes to social transformation.
Qualifications
PhD candidate in International Relations at the University of Brasília (UnB), with a sandwich period at the University of Ghent, Belgium.
Master in International Relations from the University of Brasília (UnB), with a focus on Security and Defense on the Border.
Research Coordinator at GEPSI-UnB, leading and training undergraduate and graduate students in high-quality research.
University Professor at the UDF University Center, teaching subjects such as International Security, Brazilian Foreign Policy Analysis and Regional Integration.
Researcher with experience at the Institute of Applied Economic Research (IPEA) in policies for borders, defense and national industry.
Certifications
Specialist in qualitative and quantitative research methods.
Proficiency in academic software, including MAXQDA for content analysis and Zotero for reference management.
Proven experience in using Generative Artificial Intelligence for teaching and research in an ethical manner.
Facilitator of training workshops in didactics, research ethics and scientific methodologies.
